Last time when I wrote the weekly journal, I was feeling down, and that feeling has continued until now. I skipped writing a journal for a whole week. If you ask why I didn't write, of course, it's because I didn't want to write, and there was nothing to write about.
I just worked, and after work, I didn't do much, and the days just passed by.
Even though half a month has passed, I still can't think of anything to write about.
Looking back at the tweets I posted in the past half month, they were mostly complaining about this and that.
Dota2 X Star Track#
I don't play MOBA games much. MOBA games require practice and coordination, and the requirements are too high. In RTS games, if I lose because I'm not good enough, it's just a loss for myself. But in MOBA games, if I lose because I'm not good enough, I feel guilty towards my teammates, so I have never liked playing MOBA games.
The reason why I watched Dota2 matches was mainly because Star Track sponsored two Chinese teams, and their matches happened to be on weekends. So I clicked to watch. In recent years, the collaboration between "games helping games" has become more and more common. For example, Arknights sponsored StarCraft, and Star Track sponsored Dota2.
Dota2 is a game that has been in operation for nearly 10 years. If we extend it to the original Dota on Warcraft 3, the player base is even broader. Star Track, on the other hand, is just a new game that has been launched for a few months. Star Track, as a turn-based game with a light and casual style, may be able to balance out the high competitiveness of MOBA games. Sponsoring this game can indeed attract more players. After all, as people get older, it is unlikely for them to find friends to play games together like they used to. Work and life are too tiring, and lightweight games are what they need. It seems like a mobile game breaking into the e-sports investment, but upon further thought, it seems reasonable.
By the way, the reason why I call it Star Track is because when I first started playing, I always felt like I was playing the "Trails" series. Although it is called "Honkai Impact 3rd: Star Rail", theoretically it should be called "Star Rail", but I still prefer to call it Star Track.
For Dota2, it is actually a good opportunity as well. Star Track has a large number of young players, and if it can bring in new vitality, it would be great for an old game. For example, I have watched several matches of The International (TI) even though I don't understand much.
May they "reach the stars" in the end.
Sweet Death for the Great Detective#
This is a good detective novel. I guessed the core trick quite accurately, and the deduction was very splendid, but a bit too splendid, making it a bit tiring to read.
The story tells about a detective game at a VR game trial event, which takes place at the Megalodon Manor built on a deserted island, following the classic "stormy mountain manor" pattern. However, the mastermind behind the scenes appeared right from the beginning, but instead of playing Werewolf, he played the role of the detective, while the protagonist drew the role of the werewolf. The goal was to find the executor planted by the mastermind and avoid being discovered as the killer.
Tower of Babel Canticle#
This game is very innovative. Your goal seems to be to climb upwards, passing through six different races. Each race has its own beliefs and languages, and you have to observe, communicate, listen, and think to understand their languages, starting from scratch and translating for them. The visual design is avant-garde, smooth, and regular.
Overall, it's not bad, but when I reached the third race, I felt that the map was too big and got dizzy, especially with its winding sewer. I didn't want to manually draw the map myself, so I didn't continue playing. Also, the game has a high contrast, which strains the eyes. And the poet on the third level doesn't speak in a comprehensible language, which makes it tiring to guess.
If you like games like Monument Valley, you might like this game, although the gameplay is different.
Starting to Try Drawing#
I started trying to draw, and my mood gets a little better when I draw. I always feel that after working, I need to avoid being alienated into a tool and must find some fun in life.
Actually, I should have practiced controlling the pen and lines from the beginning. But I'm lazy and don't have the time and energy to practice. So, whatever the drawing looks like, it's fine. The most important thing is to make myself happy. Although there is still a gap from the desired image.
Eyes and hair are the most difficult to draw. It takes more than a day or two to practice and achieve the desired effect of the eyes.
I also drew the hair stiffly, but it may be difficult to achieve the desired effect without practicing controlling the pen and lines.
It's difficult to capture the shape.
Friends#
When I woke up in the morning, I saw the news of the actor who played Chandler's death.
Friends is a TV show that I really like, and it has had a profound impact on me. I don't know how to describe this emotion for a moment. As a sitcom, it has values. The tone was set in S1E1, where Rachel ran away from her wedding and started living with the other five. Values such as self-reliance, treating others well, respecting differences, and respecting one's own feelings were established in S1E1. It taught me that happiness and money are not necessarily related, and those who dare to choose their own lives and responsibilities are the ones who are truly free.
In Friends, each character has been troubled by their original families, and they all have their own problems. Each person's personality is not perfect, and each person has flaws. But they all went from having nothing in their twenties to gradually finding their own direction in their thirties, supporting each other to overcome the troubles of their original families, and becoming each other's new family.
Of course, this is an adult fairy tale, so everyone loves to watch it. In the later seasons of Friends, friendship has been diluted by romance and became mediocre, but people still love to watch it because it's Friends.
